Mission

Our mission is easily explained in the following main values:

  1. We import small-medium size wine producers that represent the genuine tradition in the local winemaking, often using indigenous grapes that embody terrific character particular to their origin and regions characteristics which will always be the signature for our wines from Bacchanal Wine Imports.
  2. We import great quality plus great value wines from the main Italian regions with tremendous opportunities for volume in the market.
  3. We continually import wines made with passion and dedication.
  4. We work as a team by being knowledgeable, motivated and consumer service driven.
  5. We develop projects that are the result of continuous market research that will allow us to introduce new products and new wines following “new trends”, for example, our new project:

        Bacaro Pinot Grigio Blush … the first of its kind imported in the US .

Organization & Goal

Bacchanal Wine Imports has its headquarters in the heart of Westchester, New York.

Filippo and Sheila manage direct relationships with our NY wholesaler and our customers.

Our new V.P. of Sales, Mr. Peter Ravetto, joined the Bacchanal Team at the beginning of September 2006 thus enabling us to increase our presence in the continuously evolving and growing base of NYC customers. Peter has a very long, established experience in the NY marketplace and his professionalism will greatly benefit the Bacchanal organization.

Filippo is also involved in the evolution and expansion of the company in other markets

within the US as well as the management of the supplier side. His strong involvement

in the relationship with our producers is a guarantee of consistency, quality and expansion

of the wine portfolio.

Bacchanal Wines currently distributes its wines through a network of six distributors into the following regions: New York , Massachusetts , Alabama , Arizona , and California.

After achieving and maintaining our main goal to grow in our local marketplace and

consolidating our position in New York State , we are in the process of approaching our next

goal to expand Bacchanal in other markets building a successful partnership with new

wholesalers and distributors nationally.

FILIPPO'S WAY: TERROIR AND ROOTS

Italy has the greatest diversity of grapes in the world. With its winemakers motivated for the highest quality, Italians are boosting the wine industry to an incredible level of progress, excellent quality and generating some of the best wines values in the world.

During my formative years living in Italy , I have been involved with wine in one way or another

for about as long as I can remember.  I grew up in a family where food and wine were very important; I learnt how to cook and how to distinguish flavors from my mother and there was often a bottle of wine on the dinner table that my father would have picked from his selection from Sicily or Piedmont .

Traveling in Italy during the selection of the Bacchanal wine portfolio, I experienced the importance of that kind of quality that comes from the closest awareness to the importance of the

terroir and of our roots.

Visiting our growers from Piedmont to Friuli, from Tuscany to Sicily a common language was found: the care for the vineyards, the cellar and the legacy of each single family tradition. A real passion and dedication!

Today, through Bacchanal Wines, (which means: reach festivity to celebrate Bacchus) I like to think and perform according to my personal and business life where there is a strong link to my heritage, my experiences and ….my terroir .

In the lively and vibrant city of New York , our company mission has been to import wines that represent the highest quality and meet our challenging standards as regards to character and winemaking. Our mission is also to transfer our experience and knowledge to consumers that want to know and learn more about the “Wine World” bringing them the wide range of grape varietals from Italy, inviting palates to appreciate the diversity of Italian wines through the appealing experience of our selections which represent the legacy and the tradition of the Italian winemaking spirit.

We strongly believe that our portfolio is a great opportunity to break into the Italian wine category. In fact, we import small-medium size wine producers that represent the genuine tradition in the local winemaking, often using indigenous grapes that embody characteristics particular to their origin and region.

Many of our producers make use of organic and/or biodynamic farming which is a guarantee of a stricter legacy to the terroir.

To guarantee a secure growth, quality and personality are two of the main characteristics that will always be a signature for the wines and the various brands that are owned by Bacchanal Wine Imports, namely:

Bacaro & Bacaro Pinot Grigio Blush (the first one in the US);

Ca' Michele from Veneto;
Poggio della Torre from Tuscany;

Arche' from Abruzzo;

Koine' from Apulia;

Liotro from Sicily .

Our passion is always addressed to discovering and bringing to the public unknown varietals: Nerello Mascalese, Lagrein, Nocera, Inzolia, Grillo, Ribolla, Negroamaro and Bovale, to mention few and lesser-know wine regions such as: Basilicata , Sardinia, Alto Adige and Lombardy . We represent small, up-and-coming producers, such as Hauner , Bocchino, Casaloste, Caudrina, Fiegl, Mamete Prevostini and Giannattasio. Recently, we have made it

an important goal to select more and more excellent examples of traditional-style producers, such as Burlotto, Il Poggiolo, Ferrero and Casaloste. These stunning wines, distinguished by their elegance and complexity, represent the old traditional way … the “Italian way”!

Our goal and motto is to search for the “ next thing ” without loosing contact with our traditions

and roots: that's the base of our future.

So, let's “Bacchanal” and enjoy it!
